Dear Friend,

To the true Believer in the word of the Lord, it was God’s intervention in history with the life and death of Jesus that manifested a Devine pattern in the world. Did you know that Jesus’ contemporaries felt that the end of the world was a real possibility—perhaps close at hand? 

      In the age of nuclear bombs, this notion has at least become intelligible again. Yet Jesus preached that, “The Kingdom of Heaven Is Within You,” and that the love, forgiveness and closeness to God that awaits men and women beyond the grave are also accessible to them on earth, as His own life showed.  

      The story of the Bible ends with John’s vision of Jesus Second Coming has continued for 2,000 years without a Second Coming. Instead, it has given Believers a hope that sustains them in this life on earth, where the harvest of human accomplishment in history surpasses all that has gone before.  

      The hope is not dead and the harvest not fully gathered yet. If you have faith, as I have, you surely know this.
